This car was bought because it had a 'non starting' 1275 engine fitted which we wanted for the Clubman rally car we are on with. Idea was to remove after we got it going and fit into the rally car, then fit a 998 motor which we had to sell this car. Problem was when we got into the 1275 engine a piston and rod were entangled with the gearbox. Good game?
So what we ended up with was no engine for the rally car and a Mini Mayfair needing the 998 engine regardless.
Car itself was not in bad condition so the repairs were done to get an MOT test after fitting the 998 engine and box we had 'in stock'.
Car was cleaned up and has now found a new owner who is going to do the bodywork and use the car for Mini club runs.
We are still looking for the 1275 engine for the rally car!!
No more Internet cars for us.
